“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” – Albus Dumbledore

Meredith Grey“A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don’t know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I’d have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you’re wrong? What if you’re making a mistake you can’t undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can’t pretend we hadn’t been told. We’ve all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today’s possibility under tomorrow’s rug until we can’t anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beats the hell out of never trying”

Great Girl.

I’ve been wanting to post about her for a while but as you can see I haven’t been doing very much substantial posting for quite a while…. (I actually started this post on May 13, what dedication I have…) I’m gonna try get back into it now. This is a fairly ambitious post  I don’t know if I can get across how great a girl she really is.

And She’s B E A utiful…. and I agree with a not so recent post by Catherine introducing the concept that many women are pretty few are beautiful really….

I fell in love with her voice when she featured on Damien Rice’s album O and then just one song on his second album 9 she features on 9 crimes. I always thought she had a hauntingly beautiful voice and that she definitely had the pure talent to be a standalone solo artist.

She and Damien co-wrote the song Unplayed Piano before they went their separate ways … Lisa describes their split as the best thing that’s ever happened to her…

Her duet Some Surprise with Gary Lightbody featured on Greys Anatomy. It was recorded for The Cake Sale, an album produced to raise money for the charity Oxfam Ireland….

I can’t put into words how much I am in love with her voice, there’s something special about it.

So I waited and waited and finally she released her solo album in late 2008.

Overall it’s a Great album and I think Lisa more than proves her worth as a standalone artist and then some… It’s got all you need upbeat cheerful songs and sombre thought provoking songs and just a whole album of that Inspiring voice…..

I loved the video for her first single Lille you get lost in the story. pop-up books are always fun and the colours make me happy… and obviously the song’s great also…

Then there’s I don’t know equally arty and fun, I LOVE the song probably my favourite from the album but the whole thing is really good… You should definitely check it out for yourself… DO IT!!

Let me know what you think sure…
